Salisbury University presents this proposal for a world-class four week intensive summer English language learning program called the Intensive Study Abroad Program (ISAP).

Academic Highlights
The ISAP is designed to provide the highest quality English language experience to students.

Monday-Friday mornings and early afternoons are dominated by four hours of formal in-class instruction.  Course instruction is focused on speaking and oral expression with a particular attention to English Language Acquisition in the distinctly American context, with rich inclusion of American culture, American slang, and American History.  The in-class formal instruction is fully assessed in the American style with a full battery of regularly assigned assessments (quizzes, presentations, projects, papers, and other relevant instruments).  All students will take the Institutional TOEFL exam (ITP TOEFL) at the conclusion of the program.

Successful students will be presented with a handsome Certificate worthy of framing that specifies number of contact hours, academic grade, and TOEFL score.

Co-Curricular Program
The true richness in the ISAP program can be found outside the classroom. Included in the cost of the program are a rich selection of activities, excursions, lectures, movies, and tourist visits that give the student a thorough introduction to American life in the Historic Mid-Atlantic Region of the East Coast.  The excursion highlights include full day visits to Washington, DC and Philadelphia, as well as fun visits to the Atlantic Ocean resort city of Ocean City, Maryland, a bonfire on the beach at the Assateague Island Natural Reserve National Park, a Delmarva Shorebirds single A professional American baseball game, and enriching activities on campus including lectures, demonstrations, sports and other activities.
